 Workshop Description This is an introductory workshop on Sandtray therapy 
 and its use in play therapy sessions. Participants will learn a brief hist
 ory\, review the difference between Sandtray and Sandplay\, why use this p
 lay therapy technique\, how the brain is affected by this specific play th
 erapy technique\, what materials are needed\, the role of the play therapi
 st\, ideas and directives to provideanalysis and evaluation of creations\,
  and how to end session with the tray. Participants can create their own S
 andtray and discuss it with a partner. ​ Presenter Jennifer Harber\, LCS
 W\, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor\, has 28 years of experience work
 ing in the mental health field with children and teens and has specialties
  in crisis management\, play therapy\, EMDR\, and Sandtray. She obtained h
 er MSW from the University of Michigan and currently is a Licensed Clinica
 l Social Worker\, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor\, Certified Autism 
 Specialist\, and trained in EMDR. Jennifer worked at an inpatient psychiat
 rist hospital with adolescents for 9 years and is presently working in an 
 outpatient setting with Kaiser Permanente\, where she has been for 16 yrs.
  She has held all positions for the California Branch of the Association o
 f Play Therapy (CALAPT) Orange County chapter and is now the Southern Cali
 fornia Conference Co-Coordinator on the CALAPT Board. She has presented tr
 aining on play therapy and sandtray to local APT chapters\, Kaiser Permane
 nte\, and Brandman University/UMass Global MSW students. Speaker Disclosur
