APT Aids Tsunami Victims

On January 28, 2005, a select group of APT members went to Sri Lanka to provide psychological first aid to victims of the tsunami. These members included:

Jodi Smith. LCSW

Janine Shelby, Ph.D, BCETS, RPT-S
President of the Foundation for Play Therapy. She is the chief psychologist in the Child Crisis Center, Department of Pediatrics, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Long term Red Cross volunteer and a consultant for the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress. She coordinated this effort with OperationUSA, the Foundation Board, and APT staff

Kate Amatruda, LMFT
UC Berkeley Adjunct Faculty. Has done a great deal of relief work. She is an ARC Disaster Mental Health member and CAMFT Trauma Response Network Responder. See her experience here:
